Revenue is coming in. But do you know where the money is going?

Sound familiar?

Your business may be growing. But are the numbers telling the same story?

A business can look busy from the outside. Sales are growing. Customers keep coming. The team is getting bigger. Yet many business owners still find themselves asking:

  • If the business is doing well, why does cash still feel tight?
  • Where is most of our money actually going?
  • Are we really profitable?
  • Which products or business units make the most money?
  • Are our operating costs becoming too high?
  • Can we afford to expand?
  • Why is our profit different from the cash in our bank account?
  • How much working capital do we actually need?

These are not just accounting questions. They are business decisions hidden inside financial numbers.

The “aha” moment

When a business owner finally understands the numbers

One of the most interesting moments in financial consulting is when an owner sees their financial statements differently for the first time.

A business owner I worked with knew how much the company was selling. But after we looked deeper into the financial statements, operating expenses, assets and cash flow, the picture became much clearer.

One area that created an “aha” moment was depreciation. The business had invested money into assets used over several years. The cash had already been spent when those assets were purchased. But accounting does not necessarily recognise the entire cost immediately in the profit and loss statement. Instead, part of that cost may be recognised gradually through depreciation.

That means: profit is not the same as cash flow.

And the bank balance does not tell the whole story of how a business is performing. Once the owner understood this, the financial statements stopped being “accounting documents”. They became a tool for understanding the business.

That is the kind of financial clarity I help business owners build.

What you get clarity on

Know where your business makes money, and where it goes

Financial consulting should not make finance more complicated. It should help you answer important questions more clearly.

Profitability

Understand whether your business is actually profitable and what is driving, or reducing, your margins.

Cash flow

Understand why profit and cash can move differently and identify where cash is being absorbed.

Cost structure

See which operating expenses are increasing and whether they are still reasonable relative to the business.

Business performance

Identify which products, services, locations or business activities contribute most to financial performance.

Budgeting & forecasting

Build a clearer picture of what the next 6 to 12 months could look like before making major decisions.

Financial decision support

Use numbers to evaluate questions such as hiring, expansion, pricing, investment and new projects.

A good place to start

Business Financial Health Review

Designed for business owners who want to understand what is really happening financially inside their company.

Before the session, we may review

  • Profit & Loss Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash flow information
  • Revenue breakdown
  • Major operating expenses
  • Accounts receivable and payable
  • Business assets
  • Existing budgets or forecasts

Don’t have perfectly organised financial statements yet? That is okay. We can first identify what information is available and what still needs to be improved.

During the review, we focus on

  • Where is the money going?
  • Is the business genuinely profitable?
  • What is putting pressure on margins?
  • Why does reported profit differ from available cash?
  • Which numbers should the owner monitor every month?
  • What financial risks should receive more attention?

You leave with

  • A clearer understanding of your current financial position
  • Key financial issues that deserve management attention
  • Important numbers and KPIs to monitor
  • Practical financial priorities for the next stage of the business

A one-page summary you can actually use

Every review closes with a short written summary: the handful of findings that matter most, what they mean for the business, and which numbers to watch from here.

My work sits at the intersection of finance, business and decision-making.

I have worked across financial education, investment analysis and corporate financial advisory, helping individuals and business owners better understand complex financial information.

Business owners rarely need more numbers. They need the right numbers explained in a way that helps them make better decisions.

That is the approach I bring to financial consulting: clear language, independent thinking, practical financial analysis, and financial conversations designed for business owners, not accountants.

Scope

What this service is, and isn’t

Financial advisory helps you understand

  • Business performance
  • Profitability
  • Cash flow
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial decision-making

It does not replace

  • Specialised legal services
  • Tax filing and tax compliance
  • Accounting compliance and statutory reporting
  • Company setup or licensing

Where those areas are required, they should be handled together with the appropriate professional. This allows the financial advisory process to stay focused on one important question: how can you make better business decisions from the numbers you already have?

FAQ

Questions owners usually ask first

Do I need complete financial statements before working with you?

Not necessarily. If your financial records are incomplete, the first step may simply be identifying what information already exists and what needs to be organised before deeper analysis can be done.

Is this the same as accounting?

No. Accounting primarily records and reports financial transactions. Financial advisory focuses on interpreting that information to understand profitability, cash flow, financial performance and business decisions.

Can you work with my existing accountant?

Yes. In many cases this is the ideal setup. Your accountant continues managing accounting records and compliance work while financial advisory focuses on management analysis and decision-making.

Can consultations be conducted in English?

Yes. Consultations for international clients can be conducted in English.

Do I need to be based in Bali?

No. The advisory process can also be conducted online, although this page is specifically designed for founders and business owners operating in Bali and Indonesia.

What type of business do you usually help?

The service is suitable for owner-led businesses where the founder wants greater financial visibility, particularly hospitality, property-related operations, F&B, professional services, creative businesses and other growing companies.

Your business already has numbers.

The question is whether those numbers are helping you make better decisions.

If revenue is growing but you are still unsure where the money is going, how profitable the business really is, or what financial numbers deserve your attention: let’s look at the numbers together.
